Noah and Jacklyn adopted our "Jenny".  Her new name is "Carmelita" ("Lita" for short).  "Lita" was one of the Great Pyrenees puppies, and as you can see, she was the "black sheep" in the group.
Vader:
Sharon & Mike Polito adopted "Vader" and they tell us he's fit in well with their older dog "Pepper".
Mazy:
This beautiful young girl is Aidan and she and her family adopted "Wren", whom they've re-named "Mazy".  Aidan's dad, Tim, writes that "Mazy" is fitting in well with their other dog and receiving lots of love.

That's what we want to hear.  "Mazy" was one of nine Great Pyrenees/lab mix puppies that were born under an abandoned house in a remote area of north Texas.  We rescued these puppies and all of them found their forever homes.
Mickey (aka Peppy) & Moo
The Thamsiriboon family (Nakamon, Ford & Siri) adopted "Peppy" (tan puppy) whom they renamed "Mickey", and "Moo".  These puppies came to ARFhouse at 3 days old; found at Lake Texoma in north Texas, along with their cocker spaniel mother.  She was a great mother and the puppies thrived.  All of them found loving guardians.
Ducky aka Kona
March 2012

Andrew Havens and "Ducky", our last Great Pyrenees puppy.  Her new name is "Kona".  Andrew tells us that "Kona" is a great dog.  He takes her running with him twice a day and she's enrolled in doggie day care.  We know she'll be the perfect student because she loves to play with other dogs.
Sherman
May 2012

Hi Martha,
One year ago today I adopted Sherman from your kennel.  I worked with Mariah's Promise in Woodland Park, Colorado and they were able to bring Sherman back to Colorado.

I just wanted to send an update to let you know that Sherman is doing really, really well and I'm very happy that he is part of the family.  He's about 73 lbs now, so he's a big boy on the outside but a puppy at heart (he's only about 2 anyway).  He and I walk almost every single day and he will barely let me skip a walk even if I wanted to.  I've been taking him to doggy daycare 1-2 times a week so he can stay socialized with other dogs.  Everyone at daycare (and really for that matter everyone that meets him) loves him.

"Sage" Finds a Home
June 2012

If you read our summer newsletter on this site, you'll see a very sad story about "Sage", who was found inside his guardian's apartment after the Vietnam Vet had been dead for 9 days.  A friend of ARFhouse called to ask if we'd be willing to rescue "Sage" from the local shelter, which we did.  He's a senior and we thought he'd spend the rest of his days with us.

However, another Vietnam Vet read his story and wanted to give "Sage" a home.  Trapper (nickname) owns several businesses in the Grayson County area, including the laundromat in the background.  He says "Sage" is the perfect dog.  He actually plays with Trapper's younger dog and is calm and obedient inside the house.
Hope
August 2012

ARFhouse staff person rescued "Hope" on the day she was to be euthanized at a municipal shelter.  She is one of the most polite, sweetest natured dogs to ever come to ARFhouse. Here is "Hope" at her new home with ARFhouse friend, Sherri Baer, who adopted her and says she's perfect.

"Lexi" wasn't at ARFhouse for very long before one of our local ladies, Bobbie Polaro adopted her.  Happy ending for this little yorkie who was found wandering in a rural area recently.

Chance aka Seamus
Adopted October 2012

Chance has a new name: "Seamus", since he's a Scottish deerhound.  Jaime and Anthony adopted him.  Anthony had to carry him up and down the stairs at first...but "Seamus" caught on quickly and is very comfortable in his new home now.

May 2013

Our "Grace" finally found the perfect home (after almost 3 years at ARFhouse) with Jon V. He wanted a livestock protection dog....simply because he loved the breed type.  He has acreage and has walked the perimenter with Grace upon her arrival.  She must be content with him (especially since she's the only dog), and has stayed close to him since she was adopted.

Alumni-Bailey
Bailey was a wonderful Doberman who arrived as a stray with two puppies.  One of the puppies has already found his family, and the other pretty boy is sure to be adopted soon through our weekly adoption program.

Mimi and Alec Reardon are "Bailey's" new family.  Here's what Mimi had to say about her:
Our sweet Bailey (in pink collar) is the newest addition to our family! She loves going on walks and to the park for play dates with her four-legged friends. At home, she and her "siblings" play and play and snuggle up together when they are sleeping.   We feel so blessed to have been rescued by her and can't imagine life without her!
